About Dr Kang Ning

Kang Ning Cardiothoracic Surgery (Kang Ning CTS) is helmed by Dr. Kang Ning, who holds the highest volume in cardiothoracic surgery in Singapore currently, operating 250-300 cases per year. 

Dr. Kang Ning is currently a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon in Parkway Hospitals, Farrer Park Hospital, Mount Alvernia Hospital, and Raffles Hospital. Dr. Kang is also a visiting consultant in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, National Heart Centre Singapore. Furthermore, Dr Kang is a consultant surgeon of Singhealth Duke-NUS Transplant Centre. His academic appointment is Adjunct Assistant Professor of Singhealth Duke-NUS Medical Centre.

Dr. Kang graduated from Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University in Shanghai, China in 2001. After 5 years residency in Shanghai Chest Hospital, he completed a cardiac surgery fellowship in National Heart Centre Singapore followed by two years Master Degree study in Philosophies in the Department of Surgery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, China.

​Dr. Kang came back to Singapore after his Master Degree and became Member of Royal College of Surgery (Glasgow) in 2012, and Fellow of Royal College of Surgery (FRCS, CTh, Edinburgh) in 2016. Besides his long-term background in adult cardiac surgery, he has completed two fellowships in minimally invasive thoracic surgery in Vancouver, Canada and Shanghai, China from 2016-2018. He is specialized in Adult Cardiac Surgery as well as Thoracic Surgery especially minimal invasive thoracoscopic surgery.

Dr. Kang has also been registered with the Singapore Medical Council since 2013 and is a member of the Medical Protection Society, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, and the Cardiovascular Surgery Doctor Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.

Dr. Kang Ning contributed as a medical volunteer for the Standard Chartered Marathon and served on the Case Notes Review Committee for NHC Joint Commission International (JCI) and the SingHealth Tissue Review Committee.
