Dr Choo Chuan Gee

Dr. Choo Chuan Gee is a specialist in respiratory medicine with clinical interests in chronic cough, airway diseases, lung infections, and interstitial lung diseases. He is proficient in advanced diagnostic techniques such as endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and medical thoracoscopy, which support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.

He completed his medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2000 and pursued advanced training in respiratory and internal medicine within the NHS Trust Hospitals in the UK, obtaining his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2010.

Dr. Choo was a Senior Consultant and Head of the Division of Respiratory Medicine at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH). During his tenure, he led initiatives such as standardising care for asthma and COPD and developing advanced diagnostic endoscopy procedures. He also contributed to hospital benchmarking efforts through the JCI Hospital Standard assessment.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Choo is involved in education and professional training. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore, Associate Programme Director for the Respiratory Medicine Senior Residency Programme at the National University Health System, and a supervisor for Advanced Practice Nurse training. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Thoracic Society, where he contributes to promoting lung health and best practices.

Dr. Choo has received recognition for his work, including awards like the NUHS Value Driven Outcome Project Award, the Juronghealth Campus Service Quality Ambassador Award, the NUH Teaching Excellence Award, and the NUH Best Residency Supervisor Bronze Award.
